History The Church of St. John on the Mountain’s 29th Mountain Art Show continues as a premier local exhibition and sale of artwork by both regional and nationally recognized artists. The show attracts patrons from the prestigious Somerset Hills and beyond, who are rewarded with a large juried exhibition of artwork, as well as a selection of non-juried “small treasures.” Proceeds from the Mou ntain Art Show each year directly benefit the church and its outreach programs.

Dr. Holly Pyne Connor is The Newark Museum’s Curator of 19th Century American Art. Since 1996, as Consulting Curator and then Associate Curator of American Art, Dr. Connor has played a significant role in many exhibitions and installations which have influenced the Museum’s permanent collection of American Art. Dr. Connor was the Assistant Curator at the Brooklyn Museum in the Department of Painting and Sculpture. She earned her Ph.D. at Rutgers University and her M.A. at Courtland Institute of Art, Univ. of London.
Amze Emmons received a BFA with a concentration in Painting and Printmaking from Ohio Wesleyan University and received his MFA in Print from the University of Iowa. His works have been exhibited at Aqua Miami, Scoula International di Graphica Venice, Works on Paper Gallery in Philadelphia, OH&T Gallery in Boston, Wendy Cooper Gallery in Chicago, The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Palace of Arts in Belarus, The International Print Center of New York, The Philadelphia Print Center, The Baltimore Museum of Art, The Fogg Museum at Harvard, and the Tama Art Museum in Tokyo.
Sarah McKenzie received her BA in Film Studies from Yale University, her MFA in Painting from the University of Michigan, and was a professor on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Art. McKenzie was the 2006 First-Place Winner of the National Young Painters Competition. Her paintings have appeared in Art in America, New American Paintings, Dwell, Landscape Architecture, the Miami Herald, the Denver Post, and the NTTimes.com.
